A quick search online will reveal all kinds of discount lead generation services ready to sell you leads. But don’t buy into the lead generation services of these cheap insurance lead generation companies because they aren’t the quality of leads your agency should be demanding. If you are looking to purchase leads that are discounted, at least choose a quality lead generating company that will explain to you why the leads are being discounted. That way you know where you stand.

Sure the discounted lead companies claim they want to help you fill your schedule with solid prospects but you need to find out just how committed they are to doing this. Do they care about building a long-term relationship with your agency? Most times discounted lead generation services aren’t taking time to provide qualified prospects, being more concerned with earning quick dollars and then onto the next one.

If you are going to have success with lead generation, you need quality insurance leads. These are the only kind that will provide your agency with the potential for consistent growth. If you come across one of the vertical markets that offer cheap leads that are 30 to 90 days old, it’s still important that you find out just how those leads were obtained initially. That way you can confirm the leads were initially valid and you won’t be completely wasting your time and money.

What does that mean? It means the lead must have been real time, a lead from a major line of insurance, or a lead from a free lead management system and it must be very competitively priced.

Ask yourself these questions when you are looking at the insurance lead service and see if they actually meet your agency needs.

  • What type of leads do I want?
  • Will these leads match the services that I can provide?
  • Is the lead generating company trustworthy?
  • Is the lead generating company competitively priced?
  • How much will I spend to obtain the desired amount of leads?

Real time means now not tomorrow or the day after, yet there are some lead generation services that say they offer real time services that don’t send their leads out for several days. Seth, everything you said is completey true,when I first started my agency I had wasted time and money on discounted leads, more importantly money. I will never do that agian. For all new agents out there, don't waste time on discounted leads. You may pay a little extra for real time leads but you will close more sales.

The discounted leads can be profitable for drip marketing and they are great for newbie to cut their teeth on before going to the more real time leads. A great follow up system will generate 40% of your sales way after the initial real time ones.
